Femas Protection have been employed to provide 24 hours security, seven days a week in the All Saint Tower and security cover from 6pm to 6am in St Paul's Tower and St Catherine's Tower.

Strict screening of all visitors to the block has now started in order to prevent people who do not live there, from entering the blocks. This has also been hugely successful and has been welcomed by residents. Many of whom have been quick to let us know. The security staff also patrols the perimeter of each block on an hourly basis and has prevented a number of car thefts and acts of vandalism, as a result. The atmosphere around the block has improved greatly with the introduction of security guards and a zero tolerance policy on crime. One resident summed it up as follow:

They have worked with us since we began a year ago. Defending da Hood is the vehicle which we use to engage with our young people within London Borough of Waltham Forest. We speak to these young people in their own language in order to consult with them on any issue. We provide a three course meal and entertainment which they put on themselves, for over five hundred young people and it is all entirely free.
The young people are searched upon entry by Femas staff, then go through metal detection also. Femas Protection Services staff are extremely professional and efficient in their approach. They provide a visual presence and look smart in their uniforms; we use over 28 officers for each event. They observe the event very closely and usually predict any possible scuffles. Any issues which may arise are dealt with swiftly and discreetly.
